What is a waterfall panel?
A waterfall panel is a vertical slab face that continues the countertop material down the side of an island or peninsula — typically from the deck to the floor or to a finished height. It is quoted as its own piece (height × depth of the run), often with a mitered joint at the deck so the vein can turn the corner.
Nesting and grain
Waterfalls consume large rectangular blanks and often require grain matching to the deck. They change slab count more than their square footage suggests because they do not pack like small L returns.
On the takeoff
Treat each waterfall as a separate piece with finished edge on the exposed vertical edges. Do not fold waterfall area into the horizontal deck SF without labeling it — install and fab crews need the panel called out.
